I hope it's not gone on you, it can seriously screw your engine and you could need a hell of a lot more than a new cambelt.

Fitting cam belts requires specialist equipment, which I'm assuming you don't have seeing as you are asking where to buy one from. Get a professional to do it, you could end up with your engine needing to be stripped down and rebuilt if you don't do it right.

Ok, ok, no need to shout. I'm only trying to help, just making sure you don't take on more than you can handle and end up with bent valves or worse.

First off you don't want just a belt you need a full cam kit, as on Corsa's it's not just the belt that needs to be replaced, but you knew that right . The kits cost about £80 trade, so factor in labour and the £140 it cost you last time isn't actually all that steep.

You say you had it done a year ago. I'm just making sure here, so don't go off on one again, but you are aware that Vauxhall recommend Corsa cambelts are changed every 4 years or 40,000 miles, that is an awful lot of miles for one year.

You'll find most websites selling cambelt kits will want you to set-up a trade account, i.e. you need to be in the business, for that reason I'd suggest nosing around eBay.

yeah done well over 40,000 in a year and iv got the kit off last time because they only put belt on so all i now need is a belt to make it a kit and ebay dont have 1litre ones just 1.2 and above

i know you mean well but a google search brings up people asking about miles and stuff it does not bring websites

and the £140 was ok since they baught a FULL kit but then only changed belt so i didnt get what i paid for
they said the pulleys were fine and looked brand new but belt looked eroded,

If you can afford to drive over 40,000 miles in a yr which works in around £4000 in fuel, then i think you can take your little corsa into a garage and get it done right.

Sorry did i miss him saying he paid for the fuel ?? :?

And did you not read the fact he studied mechanics !!

If he`d have asked for tyres or a clutch would you have told him it was the way he was driving it ??

I actually thought he asked for prices on a cam belt not a lecture :whistling:

8v or 16v Petrol ??

i think it could be a 12 valve as its only got 3 pistons and 3x what ever cant make 8 or 16 so can only be a 12v

Try the 1st link then

Although you might have to try hard on the 2nd link because i reckon most will have the belt in a kit only.

And good on ya for doing it i say.

I`d also 2nd the no knowledge bit as i`ve never had a problem changing one before now and I`m no qualified mechanic :-D

i had a 53reg 1.0 corsa and it had a manufacturer recall to fit new belts. perhaps pop into your vauxhall dealership and enquire and you may end up with a freebie?
