Rubbish for gaming you could build a Gaming machine for that price

its a real nice machine with the exception of that graphic card. GS is sub-par and the 8400 is nothing to desire anyway.

Rubbish one.
You can get a much better gaming machine for the same price.
My roomie gets 4G memory plus Core Quad Q6600, 8600GT, 500G Harddisk at a similar price

With monitor?

I reckon it's quite good deal, considering it's a decent monitor. I built a similar PC and it came to about £450 (minus monitor, OS and graphics card)

EDIT: And yeah, the graphics on that are rubbish.

And nobodys noticed its a Packard Bell!!!

decent value as a overall package

Well a quick check at ebuyer:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4500
2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache =£74
Genuine Windows Vista (R) Home Premium =£61
2GB Memory =£30
250GB Hard Drive =£38
Dual Layer DVD Rewriter =£16
NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS Graphics =£24
6 USB connections
8 in 1 Media Card Reader
20" Widescreen Monitor =£128
Motherboard skt775 =£20
case+power =£14
Keyboard+mouse =£8
Cables =£10

Total=£423

But if you were building it for a few pounds more you would upgrade the graphics card and hard disk.

In the past packard bell motherboards caused many problems due to poor drivers and no ongoing support. But you could buy this and upgrade it.

Packard Bell are bad mobo's when I had a PB pc it wasnt compatable with my expensive wireless card, my tv card, my dial up modem and others just crashed pc when they were used.

Even had the mobo replaced with same problem, then bought one cheap myself all with same problem.
#11
I would buy a PC with a Quad Core processor and a better grahics card for that price.
#12
Right
Just how easy is it to build a PC and is it realy worth the hassle if something goes wrong?
#13
Most of the components are straight forward install into tower and most wires are colour coded etc etc.

Try this Link as an example

or 'google' it its pretty really straight forward and you could save a hefty sum.

But i would recommend you get a copy of XP not vista. Still too many bugs especially if you plan to build your own set up. ( mostly due to over the top need for licensing every product / software application installed. )
