Really want to take the kids to cornwall for a week to ten days from the 10th August I used to go there a lot as a kid and want to take them to some of the places I went to. However cant afford to pay to much more accomadation so was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere clean and friendly that wont cost an arm and a leg to stay. Prefer self catering caravan or chalet etc. Any suggestions greatly received.

i agree, but have a look to see what deals the following companies are doing.

john fowler and sites are good - have stayed in a few
park dean - park dean are very good value.

http://www.hendra-holidays.com/ stayed here recently - very cheap and was very clean and tidy.

if you are on a budget have you thought off camping? another thing to consider is that once you are in Cornwall some off the towns are not that far apart.

We stayed in a beach house in Mawgan Porth a few years ago, it wasnt particulaly cheap but there was loads of self catering holiday parks about that were very reasonable

Try here - they have statics at good prices at that time of year.

A great family run park, central Cornwall ideal for St ives, Truro, etc,

Keep away from Newquay cos it's a dump & the prices are a rip-off in July & August.

I lived there for a while so let me know if you need any more info.

Little Orchard Village - St Agnes

Very basic (the small ones anyway), but very cheap for the location - and perfectly acceptable to me - about a mins walk from Trevaunance Cove.

great pub in the cove with live music - driftwood spars. spent far too much time there!

Have a look on ebay. I managed to get a week in a privately owned caravan on the haven camp at perronporth, cornwall the year before last. I only paid £150 for a week in June for an 8 berth silver grade caravan right next to the sand dunes.
If interested I still have the owners telephone number, pm me if you'd like it

We are staying at the John Fowler park in Looe Cornwall in August and paying just over £600 for the week. It's called Trelawne Manor.

We booked through Hoseasons though as it was much cheaper
