I go to llansteffan regularly with my lil boy, but its a tiny village. Carmarthen ( wales oldest town) is only 8 miles away. Or about 40 mins in the car the other side of the estuary to llansteffan is a apark caravan park.
Which i know you can book thru clubcard deals and with the sun £9.50 holiday and the site isnt bad as i had a nosey for a friend who is staying there in July.

Why did you want to stay Llansteffan particularly as Tenby isnt much further and thats where most would used as a base to visit west wales ( central)

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it!
I have something going on actually in Llansteffan for a few days so I would like somewhere in or within 15 minutes or so drive away. How long does it take you to get from Carmathen to Llansteffan? And Tenby, is that a village and how far away would it be in the car?
Thank you!

Carmarthen is probably about 15 mins down the road. When you exited the roundabout at Carmartehn for Llansteffan there is a small village with primary school and a comp and local spotrs ground. Then its virtually a long straight ish road to Llansteffan with the odd house dotted along the way.

Tenby is a seaside town very very very popular with families and hen/stag parties

Tenby is good 40mins to an hour away. But a good base if you have kids to see Oakwood, Folly farm and Heron's Brook.

If you pull the slider or click the minus 3 times you can see Tenby is around the coast to Llansteffan.

Thank you Diva! I had this idea in my head that Camarthen was 45 minutes away!
It's also lovely to hear from a 'real person' about the area, as well as my google searches, I think I may have found a cottage which looks lovely, and the Llansteffan area looks gorgeous.
Do you have a suggestions of local things to do during the day for my mum (and possibly the dog?), I have read about Llansteffan castle and of course the beach but any insider knowedge? Thanks for your help.
