They recommend the lowest spec Sandisk Extreme cards (which are £17.99 for 32GB at mymemory.com) so it doesn't need an incredibly high performance card. The Sandisk cards they recommend are only C10/U1, but Sandisk now do Extreme cards specially for action cameras which are C10/U3. On the Sandisk site they recommend the Extreme Plus or Extreme Plus action camera or the very expensive Extreme Pro, but they say the cards I mentioned previously are fine. So 40MB/s+ write is fine.

gopro.com they have the recommended cards. If you take a cheaper option you will be wasting your money as I found out! :/

Thanks guys, I think the memory was overpriced on gopro, I went with the tripod and will buy from my memory. They seem to do better and faster cards for cheaper.
