would I be able to peel it off at a later date without ruining the paint on the wall? thanks.

This may sound daft, but it would probably depend on how well the paint is bonded to the wall. No way to find out til it comes to peeling time.

I haven't used this but if it's like Fablon the answer is no.......maybe it depends how long it's on but if it's for a while then it tends to take the paint with it!
As Loudmouth also said, maybe depends on the paint application too, but I wouldn't put it on in the first place if I wasn't prepared for the paint parting company with the wall (_;)
