If you are going to order, don't do it through e-mail, make the purchase through the Amazon website

If you contact them outside of Amazon then you lose all of Amazon's protection.

So short answer, yes. Avoid that seller.

As above, the scam is to lure you outside Amazon and you will lose your money.

Waste of time buying it through Amazon too because they won't send anything and you'll just get a refund.

The scam is if you email them and pay direct outside of amazon. I tested this and paid via amazon. After a week amazon refunded money as the seller didn't dispatch the item.

If I order through Amazon and if it's a scam would Amazon honour it?
#6
Ok thanks for information seems quite a common concern surprised Amazon doesn't pick these things up.

That's really cheap - I paid £275 for 6x4 . Would be concerned it's a scam

Amazon won't provide the product at the same price, but they would probably refund you if the seller didn't deliver the item

definitely a scam.. don't go near it

Report them for what? They haven't done anything wrong at this stage...

Yes they have, asking to contact them by email to complete the sale is not allowed, I've reported the seller to Amazon, CS has confirmed to me already that it's against their policy to do that.

Always worth remembering that if you buy from Amazon and pay by credit card, you only get section 75 protection from your credit card provider if the goods were "sold by" Amazon.

Although "fulfilled by" Amazon gives you Amazon's own after sales experience, you do not have credit card provider protection in this scenario.

Third party sellers who just list via Amazon, offer even less protection. In this case you would have more legal rights buying direct from the seller's own website, and also paying by credit card.

Credit card protection requires a direct contract between the card company and sellers to enable section 75 protection.
