Yep, take £300 into a bank and ask them to convert it into 2p's.

Probably not a good idea to do it all in one go though due to weight.

Yes. But has op even asked first. It would be the first port of call.

Bank seems the logical place to try first,
If they are happy to supply you that much in coin's you would probably need to pre order it a few days before thou.

seen the video on FB looks awesome!

If you collect 15000 of pre-1992 coins which are 97% copper, you will have 100kg of copper worth more than £300. :)

Go to the arcades and raid the machines:)

i would personally just try changing the money £20 at a time. Banks issue 2ps in bags of £20 and they can be pretty heavy truth be told. Most high Street have a few banks you can try. My experience is some will oblige whilst other will refuse unless you bank with them. If you drive then make a day of it visiting different banks and building society and filling your car!

Check out the legal side if your project entails defacing currency :)

Honestly I don't get why the arcade option is getting down voted.
They have change machines which convert higher denotation coins and notes into 2p's.

So either load up on them every couple of days until you have enough or ask at the cashier desk to see if they'll do a lump sum.

That's not a bad idea as most arcades have change kiosks, will take a while but it is free

Why would arcades allow someone to take loads of 2p coins away? They need them for their machines.

Careful putting that much change in your car! Make sure you spread it out. £20 worth of 2p coins isn't light on its own

Thanks a lot guys, a lot of good and funny ideas:)
I'm going to bank.
And yes, I want to make a nice floor :)
Wish you all the very best!

arcades people are not watching out for people doing this, so just do but do not make it obvious

There's a pizza chain that do this in their restaurants down south. Why would you copy something like that? Too common.

What flooring do you have in your house then? Obviously No carpet, No wood flooring, No Tiles, No vinyl, No laminate, No stone as these are what i would call common.
