Don't open it up. It will not work. Samsung M3 Portable drives do not have a SATA interface. They are direct to USB therefore cannot be used inside PS4.
The hard drive inside this portable can be seen in this video. No SATA connection which the PS4 needs. Can't be used.
Okay best to sell it then and get a proper one......Seagate i seem to read are the best yes....?

Yeah the "Seagate Expansion" and "Seagate Backup Plus" are commonly bought to be torn down for PS4 upgrade since they're usually cheaper than a SATA drive on it's own. Inside the Seagate portables, there's a SATA drive with a SATA-USB board which can be disconnected and used inside PS4. Also the benefit is that you have an enclosure to put your old drive into. However, tearing open an external drive will void its warranty so if you're worried about that, get a drive on it's own. The requirements are: SATA drive that is a 2.5" form factor and 9.5mm or less in thickness.

Any 2.5" hd will work. Think it has to be 7mm to fit, 9mm is too large.

Taking that info back, a drive larger than 9mm won't fit, 7mm would be too little and move around when in use.

the drives are screwed into a cage in ps4, so won't move even if its 7mm.

Hi fauji786, this video shows how to fit a new hdd to ps4, easy to do and does not invalidate any warranty, buying a whole new ps4 will cost you more than its worth. Hope this helps
