Can you recommend a good mattress please?

I need a new matress for my 18yr old.. I think I need a medium firm one. Theres so many types its confusing and contradictory reviews arent helpful either.. It would be great if someone could recommend one based on personal experience.. Thanks.

I would suggest one with pocket springs. They've been around a long time and seem to be a reliable mattress with decent all over support.The more springs the better the quality other things being equal. Models change so I wouldn't know of a particular one that's on the market now.

My personal favourite was a high quality pocket sprung we had with a good quality memorey foam top layer.

We spent a day lying on them, and for me, this was the best.

Go to any local shop and lay on them all, noting your favourite, then find the best price online for that model/make.

Your local shop may even be able to match the price, but it might be difficult due to their extra expenses, high street store, staff, etc. but I would give them the option to beat it.
