I've found a first gen Surface Pro in really good nick for a good price. Two year warranty too. It seems a better deal than the Medion Akoya I was going to pick up from Aldi.

The problem is that it hasn't been updated to Windows 10, and Windows 8.1 is horrific.

I don't really want to pay £100 to upgrade it; however I seemed to have it in my head that MS products like the Surface would get the update regardless.

I wonder if anyone knew the score with this , as I won't buy it if it's permanently stuck on 8.1 (I certainly wouldn't pay to update it).

Many thanks.

You can still upgrade using the Windows 10 for customers who use assistive technologies

Not sure if Windows 10 supports ARM processors. Isn't the 1st gen Surface Pro based on ARM rather than Intel CPUs?
