Right this is the bit where i,m stuck all our photos are on the computer under the normal windows pictures section (vista). Ive got a brand new 1gb SD CARD which ive put into a card reader and put in my usb, and i'm trying to drag and drop photos on the removable disk icon on "my computer" but i keep getting the message on screen... This disc is write protected... please try again or try another disc... Can anyone point me in the right direction,, and i know im prob been thick so i'll say sorry in advance. Cheers

Try formatting it or sliding the "write protection" switch on the card

pop the SD card out, there should be a little tab on the side which slides up or down, slide it the oposite way to where it is now.

Is there a little tab on the side of the SD card?
If so, try sliding it to the unlocked position and try again.

Move the little tab on the side of the card into the opposite direction.

Wont let me format the card saying disk is write protected and the sd card switch is in the unlock position..... Do you think it could be the card reader shall i try and connect camera with sd card in it? Thanks people for the advice?

yeah try the SD card in a camera and see what happens. If the switch is in the 'unlocked' position you could, for the sake of being sure, try it the other way just in case.
