Cancelling & Re-Ordering Sky

Hi all,

I apologise if this is in the wrong place, but I didn't know where to post it.

I'm currently paying just over £ 5 0 a month for Sky+ & multiroom (and Prem Plus). This is starting to hurt the pocket with all the other offers out there, especially for new customers.

Therefore, does anyone know if Sky could tell or work out if I cancelled Sky and then re-ordered in my partners name to gain discounts?

Just tell them that you are going to cancel and they should play ball I've been told ;)....

Well, I've just spoken to them about cancelling and they didn't offer me anything, other than to reduce my package and they can't do anything with SKY HD, even staff don't get a discount.

The problem is, they require 30 days notice and the offer I'm interested in expires on 21st June.

Perhaps you could cancel the subscription now then re-order just before the deal ends, I'm quite sure you could manage to delay the installation for a couple of weeks, especially if you need a weekend date.

If you did this today you would only have to delay things for two weekends and you would be round to the 8th July.

A bit of imagination about why you cant do certain dates and it'll be no problem.

This question is also worth posting on [url]www.digitalspy.co.uk[/url] they have forums about this kind of stuff with people who work for sky in the know, they would be able to advise you better about whether this would work.:thumbsup:

This month I changed to the new set up of the Sky Sports package incl telephone (unltd calls to landlines) + broadband (yeah I know its no good-not tested yet) for £34, I have multiroom (£10) and also you have to pay for BT line seperately (£13 approx) so now costs me about £60 per month in total - my old bill was nearer the £100 mark..................

I thought if you disconnect you cant have a 'new customer' offer for 12mths?

are you not in a contract for 12 months? Why not cancel the multi room and buy some co-axial wire and fit to the rooms yourself,that would save you money :)
or why not just see if you can cancel and move to NTL there you get unlimited access to the net.

They've gotten pretty wise to people threatening to cancel. Best thing to get sky to offer something nice is to say "Well Virgin Media have offered me X for X, and that's much more attractive than what I'm paying you for so I'm going to have to cancel my subscription and sign up with them" they won't be able to shift fast enough.

EDIT: Assuming you're in a cable area of course, they're not that stupid.

Would you be able to watch 2 different channels then?
I have 2 boxes (one just sitting upstairs doing nothing).
