Hi me again, :)

I have seen, but not researched into, those kits which pick up your mobile phone call in the car and go thriugh your car speakers. Does anyone know what i am talking about
If so can you please advice which is best?
Thanks BB

hi,

i know exactly what you are talking about.. i work for carphone warehouse and at the moment we have a few of these carkits on offer. The best one in my opinion is the Parrot 3200LS. (i use this kit myself)

We were selling them for £269.99 + £70 basic install or £120 mobile install (they come to you)

The offer now is £149.99 for the kit with free mobile install!!!

if you could come to northampton to buy then i would get commision 2! lol

Hope this helps.

Or you can go for Parrott CK3000 Evolution for roughly 65 quid and install it yourself. It is quite easy :)

very tempting if only I did not take into account the 4 hrs + journey and overcharge as a quick google search returned the cost of £99 and I think that someone here can still beat that too! ;-) but is too complicated I am looking something easier and which basically I can fit myself

Is it me or does this Parrot have a lot of wires attached? Can I have a wireless one please?
#7
Parrot is wirelesslesly connecting to your phone, but it needs wires for:
1. Speaker connections.
2. Microphone
3. Radio signalling (you'll see 'Phone call' on radio if it is capable of receiving TEL In signal).
4. Power
5. Control centre (buttons).

Spuf,

80 quid is a very good price if it is including installation! Do you also provide RS-232 cable for software upgrading?

I wouldn't go for anything like this simply because I'll surely forget to charge the thing. With CK3000 (or any other installed system) you can completely forget it about maintenance. It starts when you turning ignition on and shuts down when ignition is off. It is connecting to your phone automatically, mutes the radio (and pauses playback, if radio is capable of doing so) and uses car speakers. What can be better than that? :)

thank you for your feedback, the main reason that I am looking for this is because I keep forgetting to charge my earpiece bluetooth so If I am going to buy one that also needs charging then I have defeted the objective! Ok then my hunt will be to find it the cheapest and have it installed professionally! Thanks guys

PS it looks like the best deal is £99.99 in halfords fully fitted

Halfords ones are rubbish.. my mate used to work there and he said they give up working after bout 3 months..

The parrot ck3000 that we sell is fully fitted and they will come to where u are to fit it!

Komm: im not sure if it comes with the upgrade cable?!? as far as i know the 3200ls i use lets you upgrade it through bluetooth.

The CK3000 can not be updated via Bluetooth, it needs serial cable for it. It is not supplied with the kit itself, you need to buy it separately if needed. I've got mine for free from dealer, as my kit had compatibilty issues and needed upgrade.

huh???
you both have completely lost me

Why would halfords ones be rubbish? If Parrot is good it should be so from whoever you buy it unless you mean that the fitting is rubbish :?

what do you need to update the bluetooth for? :?

To end all this confusion now are we saying that is it better to go for the 3200ls ?

Spufmonkey where are you located?

Sometimes the kit need an update (not necessarily in your case) when new phone models coming out. This way you can still use your old kit with the 'latest and greatest' phones in, say, 5 years time.
Or, if you want this kit to talk to you in some language, which is not English :) I upgraded firmware to English/Russian setup, for example.

Just brought a Sony Bluetooth MEX-BT2500 and i'm really impressed. Used it a few times and the quality of the calls is great and the other party all say they can hear me no problem. Pairs with majority of bluetooth phones with ease... you can also stream music from BT enabled phones that have A2DP....

It looks pretty good, has a front aux which will be cool when I mount my Ipod and has a decent output compared to other bog standard (4x52w)... don't bother getting a HU installed, I just put mine in in about 10 minutes very tidely (actually taped all the wires at the back up to stop them knocking :o)

Cost me £109 from ebay :)
