I am wanting to hire a 7 seater for at least 1 day possibly 2. The cheapest I have found for the 28th August is £50 from 1car1.com then Europcar for about £54.

I need to pick it up from Hull at 0900 and return the following day at the same time. I am over 30.....

Anyone know of any codes?

Try this;
http://www.selectadrive.com/car_hire.asp Mitsubishi Outlander £45 per day

or.....

https://www.northgatesecurity.net/secure/vf_search.php Ford Galaxy £50 per day

Also, a small minibus (12 seater) could be cost effective and these days are very comfortable
