Hi

The Car insurance has come round again and i'm doing best quote searches.

I have done a couple of insurance compare search engines like MSM etc.

Can anyone recommend any small independents that is worth a try?

Thanks

Save youre time. Tesco compare are the best for me. I think it depends on age, car, location etc.http://www.tescocompare.com/?cmpid=ppc/google/tesco%20compareExact/BrandCompare

I just got my new car today, insured it last night.
I found Tesco was the cheapest for me, plus my mum will get a TON of clubcard points. I'm 21 first car so it was still pretty high but the cheapest i found.

I had the task of trying to find my brother insurance last week

21 year old Boy - 1 Claim - and a GTI car. Quotes started at £4,000 - Managed to get him him a £1100

Got the £1100 by ringing Aviva directly
Also premium choice gave us the lower quote before that at £1600

Also trywww.tiger.co.uk

Best thing to do is to use the comparison sites to find the cheapest ones, and then see if any of them offer cashback through Quidco, Topcashback etc and then go through the cashback to get that little bit more. Did this inn December and found MoreThan to be almost the cheapest, but they also gave £50 Topcashback, which I should get this month.

Another thing to consider is that not all insurance gives the same cover so it's worth looking at http://www.defaqto.com/compare/motor-insurance to compare the cover that you currently get with what you're looking at - there may be a good reason why it's much cheaper!

I went with aviva after being with direct line for years. Direc line came back a lot more than the previous year and the only difference is I now have 3 points for speeding :-( I tried confused and compare the market and they came out a little cheaper but not enough to warrant changing. I then checked aviva and they were £100 cheaper plus I got £60 cashback which tracked really quickly and was pais last week. it was really easy. I checked and double checked I had put in everything right and I had so my insurance was £260ish (taking the cashback into consideration) as opposed to £420 that direct line wanted for renewal. Some places were as high as £700 and that was with 8 years no claims!!! So definately worth checking everyone and not just the comparison sites. Hope that helps
