We bought a little Micra for our 17 year old son as he could not drive our car an X Trail, we chose 3rd party as full comp was scary and not really needed. Anyway way found this company v good to deal with.

Put the insurance in your daughters name and add yourself as a named driver.

The savings are huge for your daughter, and she builds up her own no claims bonus and more importantly, if she prangs the car you don't lose your no claims.

check out this thread about the same thing ... http://www.hotukdeals.com/misc/car-insurance-for-17-yr-old/881990
I would say pass plus, and a phone call to your own insurer?

When I first passed I was added to my dad's insurance, but then I shopped around and it was actually cheaper for me to by by myself, I'm with Quinn and they were the cheapest.
