My little pudding is much bigger than his brother was at 5 months and has outgrown the first stage car seat as the straps won't fasten around him, but is 4 months short of moving into the forward facing one, even though is he the right size. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, decent make forward and rear facing car seat as I have no choice but to buy one!

Go to Mothercare, John Lewis or Halfords for a professional car fitting and advice. Not every car seat fits securely and you might find the best seat...but it has to fit!

Personally, we use a Concord Ultimax and it is fantastic.

Both of mine have got the Britax Evolver 123 from Argos £130 however, you do get what you pay for. Mine is fab! and lasts forever, as it also goes into just a booster for when there old enough, and has side head rests for when they go to sleep in the car. My friend paid cheaper £50 for her little boy and hes 20 months old and she now has to buy a new one, as its no good to her anymore! So if i were you id spend that little bit extra! x

Both my boys where in this from 5 months old! And both were fine! They always give a rough idea of when suitable but its not always the case as it depends on the size of the baby! x
