You guys helped me choose the maxi cosi cabriofix for newborn so I'm looking early for the next ones up (13kg onwards) as I don't have a clue and maybe I'll fund a deal at kiddicare.

I didn't buy a base for the cabriofix so I'm not tied to the maxi cosi so what do you recommend for the next size up and onwards please? I'm not sure what to look for.

The longer they stay rear facing for the better as is much safer. Have a look at securatot website for more info and ideas of suitable seats :-)

i had maxi cosi cabriofix too- fab) only speaking from personal experience on car seats. ..have 4 kids and been through a few. personally I would avoid the ones that say they do 9mths up to age 12 as they arent good for little ones due to little recline etc. I have a cossatto one for my 3yr old and its fine for that age.
I have used a couple of different britax ones which were v sturdy and safe. the one I would recommend the most tho is the one I have now for my one yr old - the maxi cosi axiss. its really sturdy, rates highly for safety and swivels around so u can put baby straight in without twisting and leaning in over the seat. If I could do my time over id have got it from the start. like I say tho is just from personal experience and im sure someone will pull me up on rear facing being the safest way to go.....

Another vote for maxi cosi axiss. Can't recommend it highly enough for saving your back, and it's much easier to use if your in a tight parking space as you don't need to open the door so wide to get your child in their seat.

Maxi cosi axiss here. I have 4 kids. Only used it with my 4th. I wish I had known sooner about this chair. But for the boys I used the
Mamas and papas pro line. Which was really good as we

I have the maxi cosi Tobi and I love it..

it sits really high in the car so my 9 month can see out the window which he loves...also the straps move automatically to the sides when you unclipped it so you are never fishing around to find them under a sleepy baby for example also there is a green indicator when the straps are pulled tight enough so you never have to worry about of they are tight enough or too tight! I think it's fab!!!

same as me exactly ...only discovered it for my 4th . Best bit of baby equipment I ever put money into and wish I had found it sooner :-)

I would recommend you find an extended rear facing seat - a seat to keep your child rear facing til at least age 4. Rear facing is up to 5 times safer.

Both my kids will be rear facing in their seats til age 6. My 4.5 yr old is in Maxi Cosi Mobi and my 3 yr old is in Britax Max-way.
