I bought a new car yesterday and done my car tax online for it around 4.30.

This close to christmas i didnt want to pay £205 out right for it so i chose pay monthly.

Ive had the confirmation of my order via order but when I go to the check car tax online it still shows as untaxed, does this make it more likely the police will pull me over until it finally updates online?

Thanks

My cars are due tax at the end of this month but arranged it a couple of weeks ago. Just checked through the emails which say if details entered correctly then it's fine.

Checked my car tax details online entering reg and there's a bit underneath saying if car taxed, sorned or had an mot in last 5 days it may not be updated yet.

If you have your email then you should be fine. Hope you enjoy your new car :)

no dont worry if you have paid and had confirmation you will be covered its dvla that prosecute re vel not the police
#2
it usually updates within 48 hours anyway
#3
It may just update during office hours as that's when the DVLA are open
#4
As long as you have confirmation of payment you are covered.

And by chance it doesn't update and if you do happen to be pulled over for no tax, then no Insurance and Police will happily nick you....but the chances of actually being pulled over until it updates is very low and although not a lot of ANPR Cameras atm there will be a lot more in the future....

you are wrong it is an offence not to have no vel. the offence of displaying it went over a month ago when you stopped getting a physical disc. If a police officer felt it necessary to report you for the offence it would go no where as the prosecution responsibility is with DVLA. any the insurance would be covered unless you didnt have that separately

What are you on about, if your car isn't legally Taxed then you are not insured, simple really, I think you misunderstood what I said.

If you have a receipt then it's okay. You should have bought it from post office then.

if the car has been taxed online it is legally taxed and therefore insured think youve missed what was being asked

Easier taxing it online anyway :)

If you have confirmation and all details were entered correctly then you're taxed and ready to go :)

I done mine and my wifes cars online on the day they were due to run out and set them up as monthly direct debits which takes 14 days to set up with the bank. The confirmation email came 3 days after setting up DD
