Totally overcharged me for a small room with a cheap carpet/underlay and fitting. Bought a carpet off eBay and had it fitted by a local guy, and it cost half as much.

They are far too expensive. Rubbish job on fitting my carpet, underlay they used stunk of horse ....t! I would recommend you try another company.

No. Use a good local Independent carpet shop.

I saved £75 and got a thicker better quality carpet as apposed to the same coloured one Carpet Right were trying to sell me.

try and find a local carpet family business . they'll be more professional and might even be cheaper. honest advice. l always use my local businesses.

If it's a relatively small room the remnants are a great buy and the cheap stuff isn't bad for the money.
Always fitted ourselves so no idea if there fitters are any good.

I've bought both from carpet right and a local firm. To be honest in terms of fitting I didn't find any difference, but obviously you never know who you are going to get with carpet right, whereas my local guy will always be him or his son.
In terms of price , I actually have always spent more when using the local firm, they bring all the relevant samples to me, and give me a few days to see them in the different light of the room I'm doing , but then I usually end up picking a more expensive carpet than if I'd gone with carpet right.
I think that I've had better quality carpets from my local firm though , as in general they have lasted longer.
I would use both again, possibly using carpet right for the rooms which aren't used as much. I've also fitted carpets myself in the early days of home owning , and although it's been ok, its one of those jobs where a professional is worth paying for if you can. From memory I think carpet right underlay is expensive though.

Not a chance cheap carpet and very very overpriced for the same price a local independent would give you 10 times better quality carpet and underlay

I went to buy a magic carpet in the sale but the girl in the shop said they had flown out the door. ... :p

We went with United Carpets & Beds. About £500 cheaper than our carpet right quote :)

We always use local carpet shops & found we always get better quality for the same money if not less.

Yeah was 4m x 4m and I can't remember the name of the underlay but it was about £3.50 per square meter , and it was all delivered in about 3 days too . gonna use them again to order carpets for rest of the house this year

We have used Carpetright before, the first time the fitters were brilliant, the second time it was different people, the guy had an attitude when OH suggested bringing the carpet in via the double doors at the back of the house, started spouting about how long he'd been fitting carpets etc etc and then left spots of blood on the skirting boards oO

We didn't use them again and went to a local firm and they were cheaper, but I hate people standing over you when choosing stuff and that's what the guy in the local shop was doing and didn't leave us alone to discuss it ourselves :|

But if you want to save money definitely buy local.
