CarTakeBack.com franchise for scrapping a car any good?

CarTakeBack.com
I am looking for a car scrapage firm but i am having diffciulty finding out if any are reliable.

The odd dodgy person comes round and asks but they only have mobile phone numbers and no business cards so I would rather avoid that hassle.

I am in bolton if that matters but the CarTakeBack.com seems to be a national umbrella organisation.

Recommendations for other scrappage firms?

You might have better luck finding one if you looked up Car Scrappage . No one going to advertise to scrape your car !

As long as the scrappy is an Authorised Treatment Facility and you get a certificate of destruction you'll be fine. Think of cartakeback.com like just-eat. Anyone can sign up and offer their services, the website just acts like the middle-man.

Why not sell it privately as "spares/repairs"? That should cover you. Unless its a Subaru clitoris in which case please scrap it.

Yes, http://www.cartakeback.com are good - I used them to scrap my car and was very happy with the service (they collected it) and price (about £130) - all the paperwork got sorted properly too, and that's very important.

I have used them twice, both times very simple.
Arranged it online and the cars collected two days later, was given a cheque by the driver and it cashed fine. No problems at all :)
I received £190 for each car.

I have also sold a car as spares/repairs on ebay and got surprisingly more than I thought. However than can be more hassle than its worse with the amount of ridiculous questions from people looking at it online.

On the link I supplied there is a part that says "Find an ATF in England and Wales" which links to a spreadsheet containing a list of 1738 ATFs
