Is buying a CPU from Cex okay? If anyone has had and experience with buying a cpu from cex, did yours come with a stock cooler? Thanks.

I have bought several cpus from CEX, all except one have been fine and worked perfect. The faulty one was a 8120 cpu they sent in bubble wrap as I ordered on the internet and the pins got bent but just took it to the local store and they refunded me. One did come with a cooler and box but the rest didnt.

I suppose if your happy to purchase and it comes with warranty/guarantee then that's all matters. I suppose as much can go wrong with that as much as a new one.

My current build has a i7 4790k running stable at 4.4ghz all the time with good temps. Was from CEX - arrived in good condition and well packaged.

I've never heard of anyone having trouble returning one that was faulty and modern day Intel processors axpretty resilient. Its the pins on the AMDs you have to watch and if they are bent you will now before even trying it out.

Best thing about CEX is they do free returns on faulty items (free shipping). All I would suggest is if you buy a cpu then stress test it. Bought a few graphics cards and was disappointed with them all as they all had issues.
