Hi, I just wanted to ask a few questions about CEX

To anyone who works there:

- How does the pricing work? - In terms of Cash and Voucher exchange values?
- If I buy something online - can I return it In ANY Store? - Do I get debit card or Vouchers?

- General questions:

If I buy vouchers on HERE and link them to my online account

Can I then use that amount IN STORE? - Or does it HAVE to be online?

Or do I need the Physical vouchers??

Thank you

Hi

I don't work there but I can answer these questions. (Well most of them ... the first question is too vague. How does pricing work? In what way?)

Items bought online can be returned to any store.
Postage (£2.50) will only be refunded if the whole order is returned. Otherwise just the item being returned will be refunded.

Refund is back to original method of payment. If you paid on card then it goes back to card, if you paid by voucher then they email you a voucher more or less instantly.

When you buy a voucher off someone on here you should get a voucher number which is redeemable in store or online. You need all the details from the voucher receipt including expiry date and time and issue date and time. Without these the voucher cannot be redeemed anywhere.

Hope this helps, although to be honest all this information can be found on the CEX site in the help/FAQs.

Simon

If I live in e.g London and buy a voucher from someone here who lives up north in Manchester - Is that okay?

Would the staff not query the voucher?

Suck in terms of what? If you sell anything to a store you're gonna get a crap price compared to selling on ebay etc.

I've bought a couple things from them, their warranty is pretty good on phones - had a problem with the phone battery (replaced with new battery ,same problem) and they refunded the order in full.

Cash and Voucher prices vary, all prices that are displayed on the website will be the same instore.

You can return any item purchased online, pending timeframe and the reason of return it'll go to the original payment method or voucher.

Vouchers can be used but can't be linked to a specific account online if purchased from someone else, but the voucher will have the name of the person that it was issued to. They can be used online with just the details of the vouched but for instore you will need the physical recipt.

Hope this clears up some confusion. :)

Agreed with skidder, they overcharge like crazy on most things they sell and offer you next to nothing when you sell them an item. They offered me £70!! for my R9 380 4GB or £100 voucher, I thought to myself I would rather donate that to a friend then sell it for £70. Ohh well I showed em, sold it for £150 on Ebay (_;)

Obviously they give a much lower price than ebay or whatever, how else would they be able to make a profit?

And as for the price you buy phones at, they're pretty damn competitive imo.
