cex unlocked a, b or c mean?

Hi Guys

Looking at some phones and noticed on the bay, 2nd hand, they go for more than cex - which I think have 12 months warranty (is that true)?

In fact some 2nd hand almost go for the phone shop asking prices (whats the deal with that)?

Anyway

Whats does unlocked a,b or c mean - is that grading?

As on some phones, when there is loads in stock - there is a drop down with gradings!

But some phones say unlocked a, b or c in different stores

Anyway to ring stores to find out?

A B & C are grading.

I believe this is what they are:-

like new, full accessories - A
some surface scratches and no accessories - B
absolutely beat up - C

unlocked means open to any network. So you can put any SIM in it from any network. A, B or C is the condition of the item itself. A being in excellent condition with the box and accessories. I bought an xperia z tablet in A condition and it was perfect but I'm sure other users have had diff experiences. seems to be those that love and those that hate! I bought some vouchers for cex at 80% of cost so got item cheaper!

Don't expect CEX to honour their own grading system or any kind of warranty/guarantee they offer.Once they have your money all that goes out of the window.

cheers guys. it is grading then.

i then better to go into stores and checking before buying. that way discuss their warranty.

A grades are then almost the same as bay store sellers for new phones.

Man the hunt is getting harder.

Sister in law bought a iPhone off them they replaced it no questions asked under warranty, even asked if she wanted to pay a small amount extra to upgrade, a few months later got a bose sound dock it broke a few a few weeks and they refunded no questions asked.

good to know that their warranty will hold up. might consider a A grade against a bay seller with bin who says in london, but you cant tell.
