I need help looking for a cheap 4 night stay between the 28th July to the 1st August (Mon - Fri) preferably somewhere near Loch Lomond. Looking for a double room. Also if anyone has any other suggestions for someone nice in Scotland that would also be appreciated :) Trying to surprise my other half for his birthday :)ideally looking to spend no more than 200.

4 nights in loch lomond for £200 when most of the region is booked for the commonwealth games?!
Quite seriously there are some campsites round the loch and a youth hostel but I would assume they would be close to capacity too.

I stayed at the ardlui hotel a couple of years ago, lovely location.
Hotel was ok,couple of wee niggly things but it was quite cheap. We stayed in the deluxe room with was fine.
Food was lovely :)
Perthshire is also lovely.

Try groupon, they often have deals listed.

Going to sound really ignorant here but didn't even know the commonwealth games were in Glasgow this year!

Will all of Scotland have increased prices or just near Glasgow? If you just Glasgow can anyone suggest nice places to stay in Scotland?

The whole region is packed for the event. places like Bellshill and Kilmarnock are booked cos folk cant get anywhere better to stay. Try something like booking.com or laterooms.com, put in scotland , and see what there is.
There is one room in dunoon for £260

Yes I think we all know the commonwealth games are on,I was merely posting as it was cheap. Not every hotel or b&b will be booked. You just need to sit and check through a lot of them.

Groupon do have deals, you just need to be quick and open to different areas.

Actually. the barony hotel is fab. Its in peebles (nowhere near loch lomond). It has a pool, sauna. It has amazing grounds Llamas at the start of the drive way (not kidding)

As others have said try booking.com.
Also trip adviser, put in location and it will come up with options. Yes it is probably a very slim chance of finding something but you never know.
Does it have to be that area, what about further North or even more south, the Scottish Borders?

It can be anywhere really, not all that familiar with Scotland but a quick Google came up with Loch Lomond as preferable choice for a lot of people. Open to any suggestions but looking to be out in the countryside with opportunity to explore and go walking and find some awesome views.

The Scottish Borders are lovely, lots of nice scenery and walks. Will you be driving/taking a car? If so its only a 45 min commute to Edinburgh. Once my kids have flown the best we will consider moving there :)

Loch Lomond is nice but there are other equally nice places. As I mentioned Perthshire is lovely,Fort william which is further up is also nice. I suppose it depends what you want to do,I stay just outside of Edinburgh but love visiting the highlands. It is absolutely stunning :)

Killin hotel is nice, not sure if any deals on though.
