Check skyscanner hotels, Trivago, Travelsupermarket, Hotelscombined, Hotelscomparison - usually the best comparison sites. There's also "secret" deals on lastminute/priceline. On a Saturday night its almost impossible to get a "cheap" hotel stay in central london. Keep an eye out for discount codes listed online for the major hotel sites/go via cashback site such as Quidco/Topcashback which pay up to 13% depending on site.

Breakfast can sometimes be an extra not required in such a big city - there is always a cafe pretty much on the doorstep for half the price of what a hotel will charge for it as an extra/add on.

Depending on budget - look at no frills chains such as easyhotel/travelodge/Tune. They are usually located in good areas and significantly cheaper than the rest. Dont expect the Ritz though.

Holiday Inn Express on Stratford High Street. 10 mins walk to tube which runs 24 hour. We paid £90 including breakfast for a Saturday night.
