Cheap calls to Europe from mobiles phone

Hi all,

In the past, I always used Skype for cheap calls abroad. However, I came across the following web page:

http://www.dialacode.com/hints.aspx

Here it says, you could call landlines in other European countries from as little as 3p when you are with three, orange or T-mobile. This sounds a great deal, but I am wondering whether I am also charged by my provider, i.e., that the minutes the call last will be deduced from my free minutes.

Anyone experience with them or could offer another, similar provider.

Thanks a lot!

Rebtel works in a similar way: http://www.rebtel.com/en/Services/international-phone-calls/

You set up an account, and they allocate an 020 number to your destination numbers (foreign mobile or landline), so the 020 call you make comes out of your mobile package minutes, whilst the foreign leg comes out of your Rebtel account credit.

Just had a look at the FAQ, and according to them it seems that the 6 digit call you make does NOT come out of the mobile package minutes, so it should just be the 3p which would be a bargain!

How can I be sure what my mobile operator will charge me for dialing the short code?
The rates T-Mobile, Orange and 3 charge for dialing our special six digit short codes, starting ‘29’ are shown with each destination. There are no hidden charges and you can confirm these rates on the network operators own websites.

Is there any additional charge other than those advertised?
No. We have exclusively negotiated with T-Mobile, Orange and 3 to ensure our short codes have no connection fee, no minimum call charges, are billed per second, and have absolutely no hidden charges. You will only be charged the advertised pence per minute all-inclusive rate for the country you wish to call.

get your mobile phone unlocked

then get a lebara / lycatel lycamobile / vectone sim card and use that to call abroad

costs like 5p per min and you can use it as a normal sim card or just solely for calling abroad

they piggyback on vodafone/orange/o2 so you ca buy £5 cards too

sims are free/a couple of quid max or see official sites for free sims
