Cheap Flights For Childrens Treat - Returning Same Day

My daughter (6) is desperate to go for a flight on a plane and we cant afford to take all 5 of us away this year, so we thought maybe a flight somewhere for the afternoon/lunch.

Ive tried looking on Ryanair from a recent post in deals but have only found flights that wouldnt return the same day.

Id prefer to fly from Gatwick as its the closest airport.

We wont require baggage apart from a handbag.

anyone help??

Thanks

That would be a LONG day for her. Easyjet to a flight to Alicante where you can return the same day. Check out the flight times though. It would be a long day for her. I would just check out the routes they do, which would take a bit off time. Book well in advance for a good deal. If that fails ask her if she wants to go to France on the ferry. You can go as a foot passanger for £5 when the deals are on.

We have been on the ferry and eurotunnel so she isnt really bothered about those, but I will keep looking for a quickish flight thanks

I would have thought to make it a decent one trip, it would be better to have a flight under an hour, so would suggest somewhere in the UK, or amsterdam/paris etc, Or perhaps there is a local flying club, where someone could take you up round your local area for a short flight, at least then you could point out local landmarks to her.

Few years ago myself and a friend booked our oh's a flying lesson in a 4 seater plane it was at a local airfield so was cheaper than red letter days etc (think it was about £90 for the hour) but by booking the 4 seater they could go on each others flight. Appreciate it may be over 17's for the lesson but you or dad could have lesson and she gets her flight and i'm sure they may let her have a go on the controls. Worth a google and a few phone calls xx

U could fly up north somewhere there's always deals on travel lodges and premier inns for 19quid so if it saves you more by flying back the next day maybe book a night into one them.
My friend swears by sky scanner to check cheap flights :)
