some guy from work managed to get some flights to NY for £50 per return! it was some glitch in the online ticketing system, its been fixed now. can't you use airmiles (if any) to get them a bit cheaper?

go to flyzoom.com and enter the following into the promotions code (on the main page at the bottom) to get 20% off the flights.

code: MM2007ZA

Good luck! I am going to NY on the 18th of Oct and paid 180 quid with extra legroom seats (as i am a freak at 6 foot 5) so if you are shorter and dont mind legroom restrictions it will be much cheaper

I have booked a trip for me and my husband to New York flying out 18 Jan 08 (Gatwick) coming back on 22 Jan 08 (New York JFK) for £309.57 total. However, I have overbooked my holidays next year and have to cancel. Do you want me to find out if it is possible to transfer the booking?

If you wish to change your booking details after we have confirmed your flight, we will do our best to assist you. Changes to your confirmed ticket can be made up to 29 days prior to your departure date for an administration fee of £25/$50/€35 per person per change, plus any increase in ticket price or taxes. No refund will be provided if the cost of your replacement ticket goes down as tickets are non-refundable. If you have booked a return ticket the 29 day timeline for changes will be calculated from each sector’s departure date. The amendment and administration fees will be charged in the currency in which the booking was made and must be paid at the time of the change.

Changes requested less than 29 days prior to your departure will incur cancellation penalties (see section titled “cancellations without insurance”), exceptions may be made if you are moving your departure date forward. Name changes are allowed up to 48 hours prior to departure and will be charged a fee of $200/£100/€125 per name change. All tickets are non-refundable outside of cancellation net refunds. Administration fees are due at the time of the change and are non-refundable

CANCELLATION WITHOUT INSURANCE COVERAGE
If you want to cancel your flight, please notify Zoom as soon as possible. Except in cases of non-payment, Zoom will not cancel a reservation until we receive a request from the booked passenger or from the lead passenger.

If you cancel your flight, you will receive a refund of your total ticket cost less the cancellation penalties listed in the cancellation chart below, which includes but is not limited to: seat cost; seat selection and premium service supplement; medical insurance premium; all airport fees; and all taxes paid such as ATSC and APD (administration fees are non-refundable.) The total cancellation penalty imposed will depend upon the notice period you provide. For return and multi city tickets cancellations penalties will be calculated from the departure date of your confirmed outbound ticket portion*. For one way tickets cancellation penalties will be calculated from your confirmed departure date. The cancellation penalty is as low as 50% of the total cost and as high as 100% of the total cost.

Cancellation Chart:

Notice Period Before Cancellation Net

Departure Date penalty Refund

More than 29 days 50% of total cost 50% of total cost

28 days to 22 days 70% of total cost 30% of total cost

21 days to 15 days 80% of total cost 20% of total cost

14 days to 8 days 90% of total cost 10% of total cost

7 days or less 100% of total cost 0% of total cost

Where do you put the code for the 20% off on Zoom? Also, has anyone flown Zoom before and if so, what are they like?

In the first screen that appears, there are three tabs - Book a Flight, Departures & Arrivals, and Enter Promotion Code. Click on Enter Promotion Code, type the code in then click Validate. You will receive a message saying the code is valid (or not), and when you put in your details, the discount will show once you get to Itinerary.

Can't comment on the quality, although my Sister in law flew first Premium Economy then secondly Economy. She didn't feel the premium cost justified the end result.

My family are flying out next October. I've come across the 20% code, which says valid till 31st Dec 2007, but worked for me for next Oct, so I guess it just means book by 31st Dec?
