Few extra questions would help find the best deal:

Do you need shader model 3 (yes if you are planning on using Vista or playing the latest games)?

Do you know what games and software you are likely to use?

Do you want silent or with fan?

What power supply do you have?

You might find spending a little bit more on something like a 7600gs a good idea.
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/110045 - £43 delivered (may be cheaper elsewhere...)

The X800 all-in-wonder card might be an interesting option if you don't play the newest games (only SM2) and would like a TV tuner:

I reckon you're really looking for a 7600GS, 7300GT or another 1600 or 1650 bargain then. Maybe best hang fire for a few days; check Aria's super specials each day (they also do £10 off on £30 spend) and keep an eye on ebuyer'sprices, as you'll want the SM3 support these cards offer if you're using Vista...

After ATI's first Gen 8 card comes out soon, there should be a general price drop and an increase in the availability of used cards on eBay due to upgrades. For that budget, used is probably your best bet.

arent there any deals on ati 1600 or 1650 at the moment?

Don't think there are any of the sub-£30 bargains for those series just at the moment, like robovski says you may be best waiting a few weeks to see how AMD's new series fit into the market. With both Radeon and GeForce DirectX10 cards on the market the older 7xxx and 1xxx cards should drop a bit in price...

may be ok - not sure about GTA though, I think to be sure that will work you need to up the budget to 40-50 then you can get a 1650 type of chipset
