Check out the Holiday Inn hotels they are usually reasonable believe there is one on Wall Street. If you are looking a lot cheaper then you will be best looking at hotels not in Manhattan

Second the above, don't be tempted to stay in Manhattan. Transport links are brilliant into it.

I believe the ferry from statan island is free also and the metro system is quite cheap

Don't stay at the Day's Hotel on 94th Street, worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Metro is great

Thanks all! I wanted to stay Midtown as I usually stay there in NYC so Wall Street is a bit out of the way from there (I guess my pickiness isn't helping!) but I finally found one in my budget! It's called 'Da Vinci Hotel' and it's pretty much in midtown... anyone stayed here before?

We stayed in the Salisbury this summer. It's on 57th Street and has a subway half a block away. It's somewhat old-fashioned but was perfectly clean and has a great deli just across the road.

We stayed at the archer hotel w38th street with a room view of the Empire State was very nice!

Look around is all I'd say, we stayed a few years back on Central Park Avenue in the Marriott next to the Plaza and it's usually mega expensive but we got the room on offer so it was no more than staying up town or miles out.

Courtyard by Marriott, Long Island City.
30 min walk to Central Park across Greenboro Bridge or 5 min subway ride.

Just checked that hotel out, £468 a night however in November - it is an average of £130!

If you are looking to stay in November remember thanks giving is at the end of November prices will rise

I think we paid $200 per night and that included an upgrade for a Central Park view but $200 was cheap compared to what it should be. That was Feb time
