Someone will hopefully have a quick answer on this:

Work need a basic PC in a hurry - must be delivered by Tues. I assume that Dell can't help with that timescale.

Doesn't matter whether XP or Vista, will only be using Office Suite, so spec really not important.

Any ideas appreciated, otherwise it'll be a quick trip to Currys and spend £400.

cheers

Surely PC world would offer a better range than Currys.

And don't forget to play dumb with the technology, whether you are or not, get a sales assistant to help ask loads of questions and then at the end.....ask for the price......then ask for a discount.......in my experience they will nearly always offer something especially if its a manager of some description your talking too. On a £400 PC shoudl be able to get atleast £20 off - maybe £50 if your very very lucky!

I got £20 off a £200 purchase a while back for 5-10 mins work playing dumb :giggle:

Also take a look on the PCW(or currys) website - you might be able to find one you like to select for collect in store - if so you'll get it for the on-line price (if there is a lower on-line price that is).Won't be able to haggle those prices though.

Hope that helps a bit.

For example take this PC....

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/056069

If you just go in-store it will be £519.99
If you reserve to collect in-store and bring your printout showing the £379.99 price thats what you'll pay!!!
In this case saving up to £140 :w00t:
