Evening all,

My printer has just bitten the dust with a seemingly vital part of it now no longer attached to the feeder mechanism. I've tried to re-attach with no luck.

So, I need a new printer. All I use it for these days is printing out documents to proof read so I'm not bothered about photo quality and all that. Cheap ink would be nice too.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

if you want a cheap printer dont go for a lexmark, although the printer itself might be the cheapest the ink is expensive and not to many places stock the lexmark compatibles, same with cannon, not too many places stock those cartridges either.

personally id go with an epson c46, i nice cheap printer that produces reasonable prints. you can pick one up for about £40 delivered - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=63081
the cartridges for this printer if using the compatibles (work fine) cost about £3 each

samriley, cheers for the link.

I did a bit more tinkering and, despite not finding where the bit should go, the printer now prints again, albeit at a few decibels louder than it did before. I'll see how it goes and if it stops again I'll look into the Epsom.

Thanks again,
