$79.90 at play asia, plus $8.80 shipping, if youve ordered before chances are you'll have a $5 coupon so looking about $83.70 so say £42 delivered, Asian instructions tho

Do the CEX ones come with instructions? £30 odd quid seems a pretty good deal especially with 12 month warrenty.

The instructions are basic and they are pretty useless so I wouldn't worry too much about them......

I might give this a bash. I will pop into town on Friday after my exam! I have a nice 360 sat at home waiting for me which I havent actually played yet! Had it for over a month.

When I did this I got some error message about the usb drive being incompatible or something but I got it working eventually. I seem to remember that I plugged the xbox directly into the wireless router/modem using the network cable. The xbox then automatically detected the wireless router settings. I then disconnected the network cable and added the wireless adaptor to the xbox......

Once you have it working you may have to muck about with your NAT settings - you'll see this mentioned when you do a network test....

The official MS website is useless so if you have problems search the internet for more constructive answers.

If you're on a budget, the CEX offer is probably the cheapest you'll find, although it's secondhand, as long as it works, it's not a problem, otherwise, i'd go for the PCworld offer.

You could also plug your xbox 360 ethernet cable into your modem or if you have a wireless router and a laptop, you could run it through your laptop, which is how i use it when i take my xbox 360 to my gf's house. :)

I provided info on this in the deal forums, if you want to findout more.

I just picked up a adapter from CEX on monday - £20 as I traded in a couple of games.

No instructions but I just followed this site and connected no problemo:

Shame that both cex stores by me birmingham and solihull have none in stock, just my luck and havent got £50 to spend on one at the mo.

i found the file sharing a pain to try and set up using vista, the website seems more for XP

funnilly enough my ps3 got the latest software update last night and lo and behold connected itself for file sharing in seconds without me even doing a single thing and i was browsing my mp3 and pictures through that without one single problem

so if sony can make it easy when i'm not trying surely microsoft can when i am!

I got a Logitech Wireless Bridge from the US via an EBAY shop (Delivered for approx £25)

The bully bonus is that it works with ANY piece of kit with an ethernet port

Only downside is you will need 2 adaptors for the US power pack

Still cheaper than the official adapter :w00t:

Could someone please tell me a gateway that is xbox live compatible in the uk, as most listed on the xbox website are all american and cant be brought over here

i got a linksys wireless router worth £60 off amazon for £19 delivered - someone had obviously bought the wrong router for their modem so it might be worth a look. it was in brand new condition.

Not sure I would put any faith in this list. These are ones they (MS) have presumably tested but its not in their interest to recommend alternatives to their own wireless adaptor. There's bound to be lots thats not on their list.

Find one at a reasonable price, check the reviews and see if people mention using it with Xbox live.

You can get the belkin one from ebuyer for £32.23 - delivered with google checkout...

In fact thats such a good price compared to an MS wireless adaptor (£49) - I've posted it as a separate deal

Your best bet is getting a DD-WRT compatible router and flashing it with DD-WRT
http://www.dd-wrt.com/
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Here is a recommended one: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/97222
£26 with google checkout, half the price of Microsoft's product

With the DD-WRT firmware, you can run the router as either
a) Client mode
info here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Mode_Wireless
or
b) Wireless Bridge mode
info here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge

Either way, you plug the router into the ethernet, and the wireless portion (acting in client or bridge) communicates with your internet router.

Benefits are:
a) half price
b) greater wireless range than microsoft's USB solution
c) you can move the wireless bridge wherever you want

Im looking at getting the belkin gaming adapter, would this work with my linksys gateway even though it is not xbox live compatible, If it'll still work then i'll go for it.

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/61885/rb/28194977456 this looks like my best bet, does anyone think it will work though as I havent really got £40 to waste.
