Hi,

I'm Looking For The Cheapest Broadband ISP (Internet Service provider).

I Currently Have BT Broadband Basic 512Kbps which is £17.99 Per Month But It Is Limited To 1GB Download Usage.

I Am Now Seeing Adverts For 2Mbps Broadband For £15.99 Per Month But This Is Also Has Limed Usage. :(

I Don't Want Limited Broadband, But I Want High Speed, As I Download A Lot Of Work From My Work Place Server Then Work On It At Home, Then Upload It Back To My Work Place.

Are There Any Cheap ISPs With Unlimited Broadband, Above 512Kbps Speed, For Less Than £17.99 Per Month???

Look Forward To Reading Your Post :):):)

Thanks
Jai47

From what I have heard recently, all unlimited accounts are shortly going to be a thing of the past, all main ISP's are following suit at the moment and imposing a new limit,
some bill you extra for the amount above the set limit! so it may be considered as unlimited but at a price, certainly not cheap!

Pipex sounds good at the moment, till it's turn comes 8)

None of the ISP's like the costly 'heavy users' trying to use the ever expanding P2P networks 24/7 8) hence the new imposed limits!

Tiscali reckoned that too, but they had a safeguard in the T&C's, if they feel you are degrading the network or the service that they are providing other customers, blah blah blah... it was only due to pressure by existing customers complaints that the term unlimited was removed due to it being misunderstood...
Tiscali considered that it was 'unlimited' for the normal user, around 1gb usage per day...
One gig a day on average is probably more than 99% of customers ever require anyway...

I would recommend everyone considering a new full 12month contract to study the T&C's in full detail first... Regardless what ISP's state, almost all ISP's T&C's contain an escape clause so they can control or terminate customers accounts for what they consider as excessive usage to protect their service... they usually also have a coverall clause allowing them to change the T&C's at short notice too, anyway...

currently Tiscali do offer a 512kb BB package with a 30gb limit for £15.99 a month, free modem & connection... if you exceed the 30gb limit then they simply will manage your speed till the end of the month, it is to hinder those heavily using the P2P networks...

It is also well worth a visit to: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ to find out more info/details on any ISP...

For anyone really, it's getting like choosing a mobile phone tariff, it depends on your personal expected maximum usage to which is the best deal on offer 8)

im on AOL's 512k plan .. have been for nearly a year now .. no download limits at all .. and contrary to some peoples beliefs of AOL, theyve significantly improved over the past few years i would defo recommend them to any one.

Also our line gets upgraded in June to the 1mb line for free :D at no extra monthly cost.

That's very good to hear 8)

Note: ADSL users will have to check whether their BT exchange is capable of supplying the extra line speed required.... >>Goto This Page & input your Home number<< As, not all exchange's are upgraded yet!

Dont just look at who is doing unlimited download as often suppliers limit the speed , 2mb is thought to be standard now, and often also supply 50p or £1 per minute helplines.

They generally all get their money off you in some way and id expect to pay £25 a month minimum for a true 2mb , unlimited download and local call charge technical support.

Hi. I'm now on AOL broadband. It's £17.99 per month for 512kb/sec, because of AOL's double speeds. There are no limits, and a free helpline!! It's probably the cheapest broadband without limits. I know that you can get faster broadband on other companies, i.e. 2mb but they often limit you to a 2Gb download limit, which I would have used up by now!! What's the point of fast broadband if you can't use it?!

If you want download speeds of up to 8Mb, check this out.

I found this ISP quite a while ago now, it is not available in my area yet :( and seems like it is only availabe to 4.4 million homes. The other downside is the one-off set up fee of £50.

They also do 512kb of £9.99 and 2Mb for £19.99

They also have a "Free Wireless Ethernet Router (worth £69.99)" if you sign up before the 17th May

Check out www.net4nowt.com for internet costs from all sorts of companies you probs never heard of before.

You may probably be thinking that the never heard of ISP's aren't as good as the big names such as bt or AOL. However, I used this to find dialstart who had 512kbps for £17.99 and it's a pretty good ISP.

To make sure an ISP is reliable and good I would say it is always best to search for reviews in Google or summat like that.
