Hello everyone,

Going to get my car soon, been looking at insurance quotes for a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L, cheapest I've found is £1400 with Endsleigh.

The price above was found on Confused.com, so I assume Endsleigh would pay Confused.com commission for getting them a sale, so anyone know any other companies that would compete with such a price if I went through the company direct?

New to all this so don't know how to get the cost of my insurance down on my first car.

Any thoughts and replies appreciated.

put your parents on as drivers before you, and yourself as 3rd driver.
#3
Are you looking for fully comp, 3rd party or what?
#4
was that quote for 3rd party? Maybe if the car is 20 years old Fully Comp isint worth it.

I amazed at the prices for insurance for people in their early 20's etc, it went through a boom in the 90's when everyone wanted to steal your GT Turbo or 1.9GTI, i think its disgusting the prices they charge you, have a look at tesco car insurance they are reasonable, also have a look at Quidco and search for car insurance, some pretty good cash back deals, also have you considered being a named drived on the policy with one of your parents as the main driver? some policies will let the named driver build up a NCB now, or elephant.com are pretty good,

Good luck and let us know how you get on,

and get your policy voided if you have to make a claim and they find out, i.e, its stolen from your place of work & not parents place of work or if you have an accident on your way to work - insurers have ways of finding out

I used to work at an insurance co & they are v strict on this & will refuse to pay you out

Don't put your parents as the no.1 driver.. but do out them as named drivers, gives them the option to take your car if they are in a pickle and you can get cheaper insurance.

so if you're down as the third driver you're not allowed to drive it to work? lol

I never had problems with making claims.

+1

I reduced my sisters first insurance by adding my Dad as a named driver, and then reduced it even more by adding my Granddad, saved a good few hundred quid.

Don't think I'd be able to add anyone onto my insurance but have got my Pass Plus recently, do insurers such as Quinn & Elephant take this into consideration and lower there price?
