I'm trying to find a cheap yet reliable postage firm for an item I've sold on ebay, the post office is extortionate (even the woman at the counter advised me to go elsewhere!). The item is roughly just under 3kg and is a Nintendo Wii selling for £30 with free P+P, ive offered free postage and packaging economy estimated 4-6 working days so it gives me some time and options.
Ive heard horror stories from myHermes and DPD and not sure what to believe, does anyone have any recommendations?

I've suggested this to someone else and it worked for them. Try ParcelForce with UNiDAYS discount as it's 45% off. Just select the 2 day delivery

I think you will hear horror stories regarding most couriers, just make sure you pack it well, don't have it loose for example banging about inside a bigger box.

If I have anything that's breakable OH wraps the item tightly in cardboard, then I may put bubble wrap over that depending upon what the item is,I don't just throw it in a box with a bit of bubblewrap in it X)

If you havent used Parcel Hero before you can send it for almost free using code MSE5. Gives you a £5 discount on your first parcel. Hope this helps!!!

Hermes can be a bit slow but still within the delivery date. the most annoying part of that I'd when the person leaves you feedback about that, even though it was on time and out of your hands.

Did you not check postage costs before listing it?
After fees and shipping you'll be looking at £20 or less.
Would have been easier, and you'd probably have got more, putting it onto a Facebook selling group or Gumtree.

I use MyHermes and have honestly never had a problem with them. Reasonably priced too.

If you're near a BP Garage or Morrisons with a locker system (most of the BP's and Morrisons near me have them) InPostUK is cheap, convenient and reliable.

I'v Used many of the large couriers sending many 1000's parcels and Hermes are the worst of the lot. Maybe ok for the odd item here and there, but when you run a business they are the most unreliable. UPS, DHL are superior and worth the little extra if you can get for a good price
