Wanna save some time searching through websites for ticket fares.
It could be by bus or rocket if possible :giggle:

So what is the best way to go to Brighton and then back (probably 1 day stay there).

Thank you.

When are you going?

Can't say exact days but:

Departure: 26-30 May
Return: 2/3 days later

Well,if you went out on the 28th May. and returned on the 30th, the return price with www.megabus.com would be £6.50 :)

Wow, that's really cheap :D The only downside is the time it takes to get there. But again insanely cheap :)
I searched for train tickets and I got like 40 pounds return :(

Just to know are there any cheaper train tickets?

Thank you very much.

If you were arranging it more in advance, Southern Railway offer an off-peak DaySave for £10 which gives unlimited off-peak travel on Southern but needs to be booked 7 days in advance and is sent by post.
First Capital Connect may do something similar online too.
For either version, you can only travel using that company's services.

You can purchase DaySave tickets on the day in Brighton though which you could just use for your return journey to speed you home faster as One Stop Travel on the Old Steine in Brighton sell them for either company for £10 (possibly £11 for First Capital Connect)
Alternatively, you can buy a ticket on a Brighton & Hove Bus which gives you the DaySave + unlimited bus travel for that day for £12.50 http://www.buses.co.uk/fares/fares.html#railbus

Of course, it might all be too late now.
