I'm not sure how communal dishes work so forgive any mistakes here:

If you simply have one or two feeds from that dish then I highly recommend going to any high street store (ASDA seem to have offers of late) and get the Sky Buy Once Watch Forever deal. Normally they will install the dish (if required) and setup and activate (phoneline usually required ) the Sky Digibox hooked up to your communal dish.

So £50-£75 gets you free install and box and 4months on 2mixes or so (again it varies on the deal) just remember to cancel come 1month before the offer runs out or you start a 12month contract, when Sky Subscription channels do get turned off your Sky Viewing Card gets turned into a Sky Free To View card, no need to pay Sky anything... freesat all done.

I've done this in my house and parents house more than once (but not at the same time) as well as contracts to get digital tv in every room.

That sky freeview thingy seems the biz for my own house but I think there's a TV licence prob in the mates flat...he's not the sort of guy that would have one lol, in fairness his terrestrial reception is really bad and freeview is non-existent.

You don't happen to know if you [i[have to pay for that sky freeview package with a credit card as I've got a 30 quid argos voucher which would knock it down to £45.

Any initial payments are setup on your dc/cc if applicable on any Sky sub order, that voucher should get your Sky's BOWF offer at a nice discount.

Remember TV Licensing have access to a full address database so can tell who doesn't and who does have a TV License, if you have your own flat/house then you are liable for it.

If you get Sky BOWF use something like www.memotome.com to remind you to cancel contract in time or suffer the wrath of a new sky contract
