Printer-only or do you want another all in one?

An inkjet sounds ideal for your need of cheap high volume colour printing, is there a reason it has to be laser?

Below is a post from the Dell Forum on what a user did to resolve the same error.

I was able to resolve the dreaded 009-654 on my c1765nfw. I downloaded/installed the usb driver for the printer and connected the printer to a usb port on my computer. I downloaded the latest firmware driver. I started the printer with a toner cartridge removed. I ran the Dell firmware upgrade program and it recognized that the printer was connected and loaded the firmware. When the firmware installation completed, I restarted the printer and everything is working again.

This solution may work on all other Dell printers that experienced the same error.

I managed to get Brother dcp9015cdw, all in one, color from Office Outlet for £149.99
Original price was £249.99 but I asked their store manager to call main office and reduce the price..
Very happy with it, cheap to run too

You bet I need Laser, and I have been down the inkjet hole before, but laser is better for me due to nozzle not clogging etc. Thansk for the suggestion.

Dumbstruck

I ll give that a try, Saw it earlier while at work. Many thanks.

Yes it has to be a multifunction. Scanner and copier Fax not important..

Unfortunately this did not work for me due to printer not being in ready status due to the |Error message.

http://www.misco.co.uk/product/224918/Brother-MFC-L8650CDW-A4-Colour-Multifunction-Laser-Printer?selectedTabIndex=2&tabBarViewName=ProductTechnicalSpecifications&page=1&#tabs

Brother MFC-L8650CDW comes with 2,500 pages black toner and 1,500 pages colour

Brother are running a promotion £100 off which brings the price down to £152 plus delivery

These appear to be a clearance item as there is a model change - still an excellent price for a good printer. The £100 cashback from Brother runs out this month.

That's usually an issue if you don't print often enough. Maybe in your case it was simply worn out, even some office printers are only designed for less than a dozen pages a day.

You don't give your monthly print volume, but you can pick up something like HP's 477dw for £180 at the moment which is recommended for 750 to 4500 pages per month and has catridges that do 10,000 pages black and 7,000 pages colour. Plus there's no drum that you have to spend £100 replacing every ten or twenty thousand pages.

If you can find clearance stock of the previous model, the X476dw/X576dw, then it's very cheap to run as HP removed the cartridge restrictions with the final firmware update. 9,200 pages worth of black ink for £40.

Bought this last week. An excellent all in one colour laser printer. Far more economical than any inkjet,
