Hi - need to buy a laptop either tomorrow or next day. I work in Tesco and so get a 10% discount hence me getting it for £296 rather than the £326 advertised via Tesco site - http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-3736.aspx . Is this PC a good deal or can anyone recommend better? It's for my father-in-law who just needs it to access the internet, check his emails etc...so don't want to go much higher in price than this.

Bit confused - these two also took my fancy - http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-6889.aspx and this one because it's Dual Core http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-6793.aspx
Would really appreciate help

The first is fine if all he wants to do is basic interent / email. The Celeron T3500 is dual core.

Dont go for the second one as the AMD V140 is a low powered single core CPU.

The third one is better but it is £50 more.

Guilbert - you're a star - thanks a million for the plain English reply. Much appreciated. Quick question - the first one will cost me £296, the third on £314. Would you recommend spending the additional £20 to go for the third one? Also, is there another, better machine that you'd recommend for about the same kinda money?

Thanks again

Sally

The first one will be slightly faster, but the 3rd will still be ok as not much slower but it does have a better graphic card and more ram ( would be better at hd films and can handle more things being open at once)so up to you if you play games or someone might then the 3rd one, if just facebook,e-mails etc then either would be fine but DO NOT get the second one its rubbish!!

Thanks to you both - Hutchir9 and Guilbert53 - I've now gone ahead and ordered the 3rd one - the HP G56-1065A. Much appreciated - that's a weight off! Sure he'll be really chuffed with the PC!

Thanks again
