Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some advice on getting a new laptop. My budget is about 350 Pounds and I'm wanting something with a good processor and manufactured by either Compaq, HP, Dell or Toshiba.

What's your thoughts on this one please?

Compaq Laptop C751NR

ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks, Bill

Having done a quick search on the internet for the spec, I would suggest that it is ok, but perhaps not the best spec for your money.

A 120g hard drive with Vista and a possible partition is alright, but slightly larger might last you better. Also, I would advise to look for a laptop with 2gb of RAM (the C751NR has 1gb), or invest in an extra 1gb - you will find this helps with performance.

Although sold in the UK, this model seems to be more US aimed. Where had you found the lapptop and for how much?

Just for your info - Compaq are owned by HP so they are the same company.

What do you plan to use the machine for
How long do you require it
My advise will be to prefer Tosh over others as thats the one manf we hardly get complaints for !

Hope this helps
