I have a samsung tab s and I'm looking at buying a new 4k tv in the near future. I know it's easy enough to watch media on a samsung tv connected to my Samsung tab via the mirroring connection. My question is that if I buy a tv that isn't a samsung, how do connect my tablet to the TV in order to watch media eg showbox etc.

1 option is to go for an android TV (Think it is only Sony and JVC who do these at present but I could be wrong) as they have builtin google cast support so any device capable of casting can cast to the tv. This also allows you the freedom to actually install any android app onto the tv which saves the need for the device in the first place also.
Most of the Panasonic ranges also include builtin screen mirroring.
If you stuck then still afterwards as others have said buy a chromecast.

I'm not a gamer though for the casting/android apps all grand. Off the top of my head 3D panels if you can find in your price range always come out above normal panels in lag tests for gaming. Sorry just to add, if you go for any of the android ranges when you get the TV before you do anything at all with it check manufacturer website for firmware updates. The 2015 Sony Android range as an example was plagued with software issues but where all fixed only as quite recently of April this year and since then even another few firmware updates. Have one of the Sony Android 2015's myself :).
