Considering buying Asus Asus VS228HR 21.5" monitor - any suggestions?

I'm looking for a 21.5" IPS/VA monitor and the Asus VS228HR (£95.99) looks good but, I could save £13 buying the Asus VE228TR instead (£82.98). The cheaper one has no HDMI (I have DVI => HDMI adapters) but has speakers - I know I'm not buying it FOR the speakers but they do add versatility in case it gets repurposed later.

Last time I asked a similar question here, for my current 24", someone pointed out a more up to date monitor for a few quid less so many thanks in advance for suggestions :)

---- Links: (doesn't have to be Amazon)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/VS228HR-21-5-inch-Widescreen-Intelligence-Technology/dp/B00EJFEWSI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406652731&sr=8-1&keywords=Asus+VS228HR

---- Specific requirements:

- Good viewing angle (IPS/VA)
- 1920 x 1080 so I can do the same stuff as I can on my 24"
- Vesa mount <- need that
- Cheap end of the spectrum

Thanks again, I know someone has sensible advice for me ;)

(I know it's a bit late, I'll bump this tomorrow)

No takers? Well, I would suggest waiting for NRG to get the Dell P2214H for £66 when/if they get it back in stock:

IPS, no stand (seeing as you mentioned Vesa mount), 1yr RTB. I have bought two P2414H from NRG and they have been as new (although these IPS monitors tend to have a bit of backlight bleed on dark backgrounds - some people got those swapped but I though might wasn't that bad).

Many thanks, cracking deal :{

If yours arrives okay (no dead pixels and colour bleed) which sadly loads have, then you will love the monitor. I have owned many Dell Ultra sharp monitors and they are fantastic when you find the right one. Sadly they are not so good on their quality control.

Thanks for the advice, I checked their terms and it's:

"As per industry standard practice, we will accept return of an item with 6 or more dead/stuck/bright pixels within the warranty period,"

so I can only hope. I'm not picky though and I just avoided paying nearly £100 for a screen so we'll see.

You should be fine and I've heard loads of great things about NRG if their are any issues! :)

Great. My P2414H's do have some backlight bleed on a black screen but I am not that worried about it as I can't see them during normal use. Guess if I spent all my day with a black screen in a dark room I might not be happy. I also bought a pair of original stands of ebay (was hoping to be able to use the portrait rotate function but found a 24" 9:16 screen impractical).
