A friend wants to buy my spare 3 year old computer. I've no idea what it's worth, would be grateful for suggestions. It was from mesh, spec as follow:

Cooler master silent ATX case

950w silent power supply

MSI z77A-GD55 Z77 motherboard

I7-3770K 3.50ghz 8mb cache

Corsair H60 liquid CPU cooler

16gb ddr3 2133mhz memory 2x8

2gb nvidia gtx660

1x 120gb ssd

1 x 250gb ssd

1tb sata

Separate DVD and blu-ray writers

Windows 7

I appreciate this isn't cutting edge spec these days!

Many thanks.

Worth over £400 the memory is probably closer to £80 on its own

I would say honestly its worth about £550-600
#3
still a very capable pc IMHO. id agree with the guys above maybe £500, £450 for a mate tho :D

Thanks, I wasn't expecting that sort of value! I'm not a gamer, but I think their son would like to. Would this play a recent game?

Again, many thanks.

Would play all games but not at highest resolution but upgrading the graphics card and you would have a good spec machine.

For 1080p it would run new and existing titles well 40-50fps medium settings, but that i7 is still a beast CPU, I'm surprised you put a 660 with a 3770k, should have gone with like a 680, 690 at the time. Still, your mates son will enjoy this build, as its still stronger than the consoles which are out.

There's no way I would pay 4 or 500 for that setup second hand. Just no way especially at 3 years old. You could build better brand new for way less - an AMD rig that would be about 30 to 40% quicker would cost new 450, below is an Intel solution that would be about 40% quicker......

Bare in mind the prices don't consider sale prices or nearly new etc

No its not. That gpus is going to struggle soon 2gb of vram and a throughput of 1.9 teraflops in a windows build is some way short of the achievable power of a dedicated console rig. Ps4 is around 1.85 t flops with ano equivalency of between 3 and 4 t flops in a windows build. So it's about half the achievable power

FYI 4690 has better single core performance than a 3770 so unless your mate is running core heavy workloads that require more than 4 the 4690 will dominate in every other scenarione

Top end of £400, bear in mind it's 3 years old and 2-3 generations behind. Maybe take the ssd's and sell them separately.

It's not worth anything it's very old

I think top few comments haven't considered it's 2nd hand. £450-£500. You can check what each item goes for sepreatly to get a more accurate evaluation, remember it's used so look for a used price, which I myself sometimes forget I must admit when looking.
