If its bad enough to need to be limited to speed - time to get it replaced.
If you hit one large pothole at speed... i dont think the results would be pretty.
Speedbumps and potholes will put latge amounts of stress on the wheel, and this over time will make the crack bigger

Remember the only things holding you to the road are your wheels and tyres, and they put up with acceleration, braking and cornering stresses too. They are a safety item so you dont want to chance it with a defective part!

Mine failed for having no windscreen wiper blades - but I don't drive when its raining I said ! Miserable **** charged me £12 for a new pair oO . All bent and profiteering these MOT places (_;)

Just leave it. It's only the lives of you, anyone else in your car and other road users we're talking about after all.

A puncture or blowout at speed is one thing, at least you still have rubber between the road and rim. When a rim falls to bits on the move, the driver becomes a passenger. Change the wheel and stop being tight.

You'll fail your MOT running on the spare tyre anyway because both axles don't have the same wheel structure. No other way to say this than to advise to stop being a moron and get it replaced before you kill yourself or worse.

ur worse than me just go to a scrap yard and get a rim with a good tread for about 20 quid if u don't want spend any money on the alloy then when it wears out u can use the tire off the alloy on it so overtime it won't really have cost u anything thing, but ur crazy if u trying save a few quid on a known broken alloy wheel.

it will pass with a full size spare on if you don't have one look on Gumtree or scrappy then find a tyre fitter to take the tyre off the rim and keep for later..

Alloy firm are idiots if they said that , name and shame them
No safe speed for a cracked alloy , just a ticking time bomb
Get it repaired or even replaced

Mine was £10 for one wiper blade and it was the old massive metal style not the new aeroblade type, it was a new Bosch, but still the aeroblades are like £7 on ebay for a full set of three (and the MOT was the full £55 they can charge).

Take it for MOT and if it passes go to the Sun. They'll pay £1400 and if you go on GMB it's an expensed night in a Radisson Blu

It will fail if spotted, 100%.

Yeh mine failed on the brakes I said I never go down hills...
failed on emissions, I'll never drive into town.
failed on an indicator bulb, I'll only turn right.
failed on headlights said I'd only drive during the day.

but he still wouldn't pass it...

A four pack of tins later, you'd never have known...

Rubbish. The type of rim makes no difference. The tyre type does though, you can't have a cross-ply and a radial on the same axle.

Op you shouldn't really have to ask, what would happen if you hit a pot hole and the wheel gave way. Unbelievable really, not only would you put yourself, your family at risk but someone else, may be many people in a pile up, their families hundreds of people effected by your one action. Get it fixed.

Please have the alloy replaced/repaired, I wouldn't want to be driving more than 5mph on it tbh.
banned#19
Even it up by cracking the other 3.

People who knowingly drive a vehicle with a defect..... there's no word good enough that springs to mind to describe how idiotic that is!!

Hope this serves as a reminder!!

Tyre size must be the same across an axle but wheel type doesnt matter

Replace the wheel. If you can't then please don't use your car. What else are you skimping on.
Something managed to crack the wheel in the first place. Without going over 60. A similar hit will destroy the wheel and potentially let you lose control and 59mph into a wall or a family car full of the nuclear 2.4 family.
