Try boots - they are doing 3 for 2 at the moment on some nursury collections.
Also argos have some lovely ones in my opinion! (the pink + purple eeyore collection is pretty!) They are also doing offers some of which are half price!

I'm not trying to put you off (or maybe I am!), but although bedding sets look really cute, the current advice from those in the know (midwives, etc) is not to use duvets until the baby is at least 1 year old. Duvets are thought to increase the chance of cot death (SIDS).

Some folk (midwives!) also advise against cot bumpers, but FSIDs haven't come down as heavily against them (see linky link below)

Best to stick with a 'grobag' or other brand sleeping bag rather than a duvet, and do without the bumper to be on the safe side ... I can 100% recommend sleeping bags, as there is no risk of baby wriggling under the covers or kicking them off. I wouldn't be without them :-)

Hi, thanks for the response but i ahve used blankets with my other 2 babies just fine, if we listened to everything they advised we would be housebound mad worrying parents 24/7.

Oriental ... balnkets are fine - for most babies. As you no doubt know, SIDS or cot death only affects a very small number of babies each year (but obviously the effects for the family are devastating).

I guess it depends on your point of view of avioidable risk.
e.g. most mums-to-be don't smoke as the risks are well known, but some choose to.
the risks associated with drinking any alcohol at all whilst pregnant are less proven, but many still choose not to drink (and the current gov advice is not to).
similarly, taking a large group of cot deaths, statistical analysis has shown that blankets can be a risk, compared to sleeping bags, and that sleeping at the top of the cot can be a risk, compared to sleeping at the bottom.

Whether you follow the advice to try to avoid SIDS, based on risk, and the hassle/cost associated is up to you ....
