OK so I am fuming. I just spent the last hour on the phone to customer service to currys, for the eejit to refuse to let me speak to a manager or supervisor and easily resolve the issue! He gave me an email address to contact to complain, but is it really worth it?

Basically what happened was, I called up cs on Sunday to find if a newer model of an appliance was in stock at the closest store, I have to make a bit of a journey you see so I wanted to ensure I wasn't wasting time or money ! So the advisor ensured that the newer model was in the shop and that there were 10 or so in stock. I asked him : "are you sure cuz I really don't want to make a trip especially to be told that actually,we don't have it!" He promised me that wouldn't be the case.
Anyway so wasted journey in to find out in actual fact hey how, no newer model. I had purchased older one 2 days prior so in anger I just returned it back to currys as I could NOT be bothered carrying it back.
So I called today basically to compensate the travel...but I can't find my bus ticket so I'm raging at that, but not only that, this guy I was speaking to, gosh he was awful!!! In the end I have been given an email and been refused to speak to anyone higher up.
Lol am I just wasting my time? Sorry I needed to let it out :P

Thanks guys, yeah they refuse to compensate time. So I could result in nothing at all for an outcome. ..right now it's that I'm lucky I've experienced this before actually keeping an appliance, hate to imagine what they'd be like if there were any issues!

send a quick email using resolver explain the call u made that should be recorded ask them to check it and they have proof u went into store aswell as u gave the item in that day they may offer u a voucher of say 10 quid or something worth another 5 mins of ur time.

Basically imo it's tough do dah but if by writing an email they actually offer you any compensation then it's a win win :p bit like who wants to be a millionaire at times this site take a 50/50 phone a friend or ask the audience!

In my experience with cockup curry's you will be unlikely to get them to admit to a mistake, so to get any recompense in the form of compensation I wish you good luck.

No bus ticket, no proof. You'll lose every day of the week

Let it go, there are more important things you could be doing.

They don't give a **** when you ARE a customer so there is no chance of getting anything out of them when you are not! :D It still amazes me that people still use them to be honest.

i'm not sure who you think you could speak to that could solve this issue any quicker than their complaints email? They have set up a department to deal with this sort of thig (i assume as there is an email address for it) why would they let you circumvent that procedure? i know it sounds callous but you are not special in the respect of they should change all their processes just for you.
Also what made you think the store would have stock of something i assume they didnt 2 days prior? did they suggest there was a delivery coming in? I feel like you are being slightly unreasonable with your expectations for the whole situation although i do empathise with being told it was in stock and then it not being in stock when you arrived however i think you seem to have used obtuse methods which werent really meant for doing what you wanted so were more likely to result in error, for instance why didnt you reserve and collect it online, it would have showed you stock and if there was a problem the store would have the chance to ring you to let you know.
also im unclear as to why the guy on the phone was
but not only that, this guy I was speaking to, gosh he was awful!!!
as that doesnt explain anything.
I really dont mean to come across as anything other than trying to see things from the other side, and i appreciate maybe your frustration is perhaps clouding your judgement. If you really feel this aggrieved however i think that should tell you that it is definately worth emailing them as otherwise how will they have the chance to prevent this from happening again even if they are not going to pay you for the travel it may help someone else.

Oh I had checked online and so the newer model was available online like amazon etc and I decided to just do a quick call on Sunday to the closest store to me. He insisted I stayed on the phone whilst he did a call to the store even though I had said it's fine I can order it online anyway, if it's not in store then it's OK, since it isn't on curry's website, I was double checking. I thought I was calling directly to the store but you can't do that.so all I wish I had been told was forget it we don't have it. But this guy on Sunday was adamant that they did have the model I was looking for. So I really wouldn't have minded if he had simply said no, if we don't have it online, we don't have it in store. .
Basically I then made the trip out to the store because he ensured it was there. Then the guys in curry's didn't have a clue but were nice enough. And told me the online customer service isn't the best.
And I was phoning this morning to ask where the advisor had called cuz there's no way it was the store I visited..but the guy I spoke to today was really rude as he answered the phone to begin with, telling me to speak up etc and "what do you want me to do" before letting me finish..hey if it stops other people being given false info and pointless journeys, I thought it would be worth letting them know.

Pointless. You lost a couple quid on a bus ticket. Move on.

And a day off work. Time is kind of important to me since I have family members battling cancer that I'm trying to help. Just thought I'd let you (and others know) before people start with the smart answers.

If time is important, let it go.

Not trying to be smart. You asked is it worth it. I'm answering you. No it's not worth it. It's a bus ticket and a bit of time. Get over it and move on.

I would take this advice.

That's me told then... X)

Seriously, if you really do have that much other important stuff going on in your life, why are you even bothering with something so trivial?
