Hi guys,

Looking to upgrade my PS4 hard-drive. I have chosen the one I want spec wise and I can only find it on dabs.com

I've never heard of them so has anyone got any feedback as to whether they are reliable and trustworthy?

Cheers

Safe: probably; reliable: no chance; trustworthy: debatable.

roof30, what do you mean by that? That's a little off putting

Over 10 years ago I bought a 30GB hard drive from them, when it didn't turn up, I phoned customer service, he basically told ME to contact the post office to find out where it was.

Not impressed,

Bought a gazillion things off them over the years. No "major" problems so far.

If you are asking 'are they genuine?', then yes 100%.

As with all companies some people have good experiences and some have bad, but Dabs are a genuine company and you will have no problem chasing things up legally if they decide to be a pain in the ****.

But overall I would go for it, I have ordered from Dabs in the past and never had a problem, but then again I have never had to use them for any returns. However, I have also used Scan, Ebuyer, Overclockers, etc and only ever really had to return something to Ebuyer which was a bit of a nightmare at the time, but that does not put me off as I buy dozens of items from them on a monthly basis if they are cheaper than the competition. The pros outweigh the cons as they say.

So, overall Dabs are 100% genuine, if you see something you want and can't find it cheaper then go for it You really can't do any worse.

They've been around a long time, great up until the point something goes wrong.

I bought a laptop from DABS a year or so back. The transaction went well, with prompt delivery, and the laptop has been trouble-free. My only issue is a minor one, and that is that the packing box was large enough to fit about 20 or more laptops. It was huge, and totally out of proportion to the size of the laptop. I just thought it was a waste of cardboard.

I bought 2 7950 from dabs both had major overheating issues as they drew way to much wattage sent them back and got a full refund without a single problem. They tested them and confirmed both cards randomly drew 350watts each within days. Ocuk and ebuyer have taken weeks to test stuff I've sent back in the past and that was just ram and a motherboard so can't fault dabs rma procedure

As above, used them lots over the last 10 or so years. Never had an issue but if you buy on a credit card rather than a debit card, it will give you some helpful come back if there are any problems at a later date. Easily spent well into the thousands of pounds with them at this stage. Delivery is usually fairly quick and the process informative throughout.

My only issue with them was they cancelled 2 orders on me when their system duplicated one in error even though I still wanted one set of the goods. As a result I had to reorder and it took longer to get to me because the cut off time was missed. On the plus side, the prices dropped and I saved money. So could say their mistake was to my fortune.

Thanks for the response, don't own a credit card however!

I'm at work but I'm going to order it tonight when I finish. A little annoying that express delivery is £7.99 so I'll hopefully receive it in a few days

Thanks everyone who replied
